How do you make your hair really curly with a curler?

i just got a curler and i used it a couple times. and my ends get curly but nothing else!! i have long hair and i use spray on my hair so the curler won't burn my hair and it's supposed to 'hold' too.. but how do i make curls? my hair doesn't get curly..

i can get it curly with curlers but i want to use a curler. it should be able to get curly. how do i do it? do i need to hold the curler on forever?

depends on the size of the curler. the 1 inch around will get it really cruly as well as the 1.5 inch if its 3 inch then it will only wave the hair. and the spiral its like the 1inch but with this spiral around it so you know how to get the perfect curl. if it heats slowly then yea you have to wait, but get one that costs a bit more and read about it so youknow how much it heats and how long you have to keep it on, my friend's 15seconds for each curl and it looked perfect. hers was a 1 inch
