Curly iranian hair help!!!?

okay so i have very frizzy curly hair. if i shower in the morning i can manage okay, trouble is, i don't have time for that. i need to shower at night and my hair becomes frizzy overnight. i use hair serums, leave-in conditioners, and have tried all sorts of hair gels, sprays, mouses... i can't seem to find something to work. i dont want to permanently straighten or relax cuz it looks really bad when the roots grow out. any helpful ideas for people who've experienced my problem???

You could try very [very!] large rollers- and if possible, dry off your hair IN THE ROLLERS before you go to bed. This will "set the hair" and should make all the difference. Or simply blow-drying it using a defusser - with a brush that allows plenty of air circulation! I have done this successfully for my daughter, though I used the ironing board, and she sat on floor, and I spread out her hair on ironing board [over a towel as it was wet] and successfully `straightened' and smoothed out her hair, using a defusser hair dryer (because it doesn't `blow it to smithereens' it just gently drys the hair without force] I hope this helps.

talk to a black hair care specialist...they can give you a flat ironing and suggest holding and wrap products...

COOL!!!! im iranian too! i have curly(more like wavy) hair wen i get out of the shower too, and gels and stuff like that wont work. use a hair straightener, u can get the permanent kind, or the washout one, the washout one lets ur hair turn back to its original state. dont use it too often or it might burn ur hair, luckily, iranians have thick hair, ussually, so burning hair doesnt happen that often.

French braid your hair at night and where it wavy the next day.

hi--i have very curly hair, too. i don't work for this company so you don't need to think i'm pushing products, but the company/salon devachan in nyc makes some really great products for very curly/frizzy hair. there's a book called "curly girls" that has great tips for all ethnicities and has recipes for making your own products. it's put out by devachan (written by lorraine massey. just saw in barnes %26amp; noble today--can also get online) if you live near nyc they have 2 salons. otherwise, you can get their products online. www.devachansalon.com

one of the things they recommend is to NOT use shampoo--too harsh for curls (unless it is lather-free). just use conditioner and use your fingers to get through your hair. really really make it super silky and let it sit in your hair while you do all your other showering things. you can put a shower cap on if you want more heat under there. when you rinse, try to leave a little conditioner in, especially on the ends, or you can reapply it when you are done.

one of the most important things is that you do not rub your hair to towel dry it. you need to have a separate hair towel and while you are still standing in the shower (water off!) flip your hair forward (bend over) and dry your hair from the bottom up. take the towel and a bunch of hair and scrunch the section upwards, gently squeezing out the excess water. do this all the way around. this should help eliminate frizzing. then use a clear, light gel and apply it the same way, scrunching it up into your hair from the bottom up instead of running it through from the top down. also, once you get the gel in and see your curls setting up, don't comb or run your fingers through as that will upset the curls. flip back up and scrunch your gel through the top. you can also apply a light touch to the "frizz halo" to keep it down. you can even do all this while your hair is soaking wet, then dry it.

the only issue is it does take a long time to dry...but you don't have to do it every night anyway (also not good for us curly girls.)

sorry this is so long--definitely check out the book!

good luck! (and no, i don't work for them--just get my hair cut there and love their stuff!!!)

blow dry your hair, straight then put it up in a pony tail high on your head and flat iron the pony tail keep in in the ponytail over night. dont keet the rubber band too tight or it will make a mark, whrn you take it down in the morning you hair will be straight and full. beacuse it is in a pony tail you wonyt be sleeping the bulk of your hair to curl or bend it. but sleeping with it up will allow you to heat up the under side between your head and your pillow which will keep your hair straight. also, there is new flat irons that you can take your hair from wet to dry with olny the flat iron. glad to help.

I also shower at night @ braid my hair. In the morning, I jump in the shower for 2 minutes %26amp; rewet my hair of spritz it with water in a sprayer bottle. I alos have thick, heavy curly hair %26amp; I SWEAR to you, of all the products from Frizz Ease to Redken, Ouidad is the BEST. Her deep conditioner smells Awesome %26amp; all her products work fabulously. Her site is www.Ouidad.com, she is also Lebanese with the same hair %26amp; she developed these products for herself. I also have my hair cut at her salon %26amp; my hair has never looked nor felt better. Frizz is finally gone.

Good Luck....
