SPRAY PAINT MY DRIVEWAY for my birthday! (:?

alright, heres the deal. im going to be turning 14 on march 12. its a big deal for me and (honestly i dont want to sound full of myself) but i have about 10 REALLY close friends, and we were all voted in the 10 most popular student votes for my school (i was voted #1 POPULAR!) but heres the problem, all of my friends already had their birthdays, where we went to a concert or a dinner or arcade or something cool then all slept over at there houses. it was fun, but i really want mine to be cool, and this is what i was thinking..

i have the biggest driveway out of all of my friends and neighbors, and over the summer we're sealing our driveway, so it will cover up anything like marks or cracks, and my dad said this idea was ok if i found something that will wash off...

I REALLY WANT TO SPRAY PAINT MY DRIVEWAY! i was thinking everyone could put something on there. but i cant find a non-permanent spray paint ANYWHERE! even online! i was thinking maybe we could use that spray on hair color

Use spray chalk it washes off and goes on like spray paint.

See link below for one supplier.

I dont think the sealer will stick to the spray paint and so they may either turn down the job...or they will do it anyways and you will have cracks and everything in a few days...

I would not suggest anything other than a chalk type spray or something like that...anything that is like paint that will stay for a while may not work out too well...

Any foreign substance on the driveway must be removed completely before the driveway can be sealed. If there is any evidence of the color when they come to install the sealant, they will not warantee it. If it was concrete, they could power-wash it before the sealant is applied, but this is not a good idea to use a harsh wash on asphalt or the surface could be damaged instead of cleaned.

Use chalk, and scrub off every inch of is before they come to apply the sealant.

If something was used and did not get washed off, it could:

1) Stop the sealant from adhering to the drive, allowing it to flake and peel later.

2) Change the appearance of the thin layer of sealer such that the shapes of the painted words or symbols will be able to still read through the sealant - which is common when people paint or write on drywall and the wall is later painted - the differences in the layers below remains visible.

Note: you could ask the folks coming to seal it what they think.

Here is a recipe for sidewalk paint. You could make up buckets of this and hand every one paint brushes. Supply them all with white t-shirts and painters pants and have a blast painting, spattering. You would need the Costco size cornstarch though.

Homemade Sidewalk Paint

This environmentally friendly sidewalk paint takes the place of the traditional sidewalk chalk. Its also very, very inexpensive! You can make you standard shades of red, green ,yellow, and blue; or, mix and match to create other shades.

SUPPLIES:

褰?cup cornstarch

褰?cup cold water

6 to 8 drops of food coloring

DIRECTIONS:

1. Put cornstarch in a small plastic bowl and gradually stir in the cold water.

2. Add your desired food coloring and stir.

3. If the paint still feels too dry, just add a little more water until you get the consistency you prefer.

4. Repeat the process to create different colors.

This sidewalk paint washes off very easily and will not harm plumbing or plants 閳?cornstarch is all natural and biodegradable.

Because this paint is so inexpensive, you can use it to paint larger canvases of art compared with traditional sidewalk chalk which is quickly used up. You can also get more detail in the pictures by using different sized paint brushes.

If you mix these in small, recycled butter tubs or other airtight containters, you should be able to keep the leftover sidewalk paint from one project to the next 閳?assuming there is any left. If you find that the sidewalk paint has gotten a little dry, just add water to get the desired consistency.

Remember back in Kindergarten the paint you used then? It was washable and water based? It was Tempera Paint. It was great back in the 60's when I was young, and just thought a classic may be your answer. Clean it up after the party with a hose and broom or pressure washer! Also I don't think it will break your bank. (I didnt have much money when I was 14)

Find the whole assortment of basic, washable, glitter, neon, metallic, and dry tempera paints in the craft paint section of your neighborhood Michaels store. Also find 6-packs of your favorite colors in convenient 4-ounce bottles.
