Hair straightening - can you advise?

I straighten my hair every morning, and because it does so much damage, I dont like to blow dry it. I wash it in the evening and let it dry naturally.

What I want to know is this - when I wash it, and tie it back, I spray my hair with a protector spray which protects it from damage while straightening. Will this still protect my hair in the morning, or is it pointless spraying it on in the evening?

Thanks!

I straighten my hair everyday aswell. its best to apply it just before you straighten the hair. if you put it on the night before, all the chemicals which help protect the hair, diffuse, so when you straighten it, it will cause damage.

If I were you I would spray it on in the morning, just to get the best from it.

I'd spray it on in the morning just before you use your straightner cos I thinksome of them need to still be wet to be effective

Hair straightening - can you advise?

you should spray the sections of your hair just before you straightnen them.

if i was you i would get an intensive conditionare for your hair like a henna wax(supermarkets sell it for about 鎷? a tub) and do that once a week.

also go to your hairdresser and have your hair trimmed more often.

well it might still help a little bit but for the full effect spray it in the morning

Hair straightening - can you advise?

well it proably works when heat activated so it is pointless to put it on at night just before you straighten it would be better for your hair i have curly hair

Hair straightening - can you advise?

i wouldn't spray it on until the morning. you might be wearing alot of it off while you sleep.

it probably wont do your hair any harm putting stuff on it before you go to bed. best bet is to put on a little bit of straightening creme ( loreal's stuff in a pink bottle is good) just before you straighten it. it not only protects it but helps it to stay straighter.

Hair straightening - can you advise?

no keep spraying it

you need to use a leave in conditioer that protects all day. professioal products really are worth the extra money, but if you cant afford it i recommend infusium 23 leave in conditioner. it keeps ur hair healthy

It depends what type of protector it is... some tell you to spray your hair, and then dry, but others tell you to spray it directly onto your hair just before you straighten it. I use the Lee Stafford Poker Straight heat protector, which tells you you can spray directly onto dry hair and straighten. I find it really good, and it also has a lovely fragrance.

You get it in Boots, in a bright pink bottle for 鎷?.99 - I know this may seem expensive, but there are often specials offers within the range i.e. buy 2 get the 3rd free, so it's worth getting the shampoo/conditioner as well.

it is recomended that you use any kind of protector or smoothing creams when your hair is wet and then style....letting it dry natrually overnight is just fine....i've been doing it for years and that is what i recomend

I wouldnt use any of the stuff u r using...it will only damage completly your hair!!! Take a shower and rinse your hair with WATER ONLY, wash ur hair with shampoo every 3 days!!!! Please take care of ur hairl...if u dont wanna end up bald when ur older!!!!!

you shouldnt wash your hair everyday, wash it only twice a week at least or else your hair gets greasy. blow drying doesnt damage your hair, only if you put loads of products like mousse and all that then blow dry it like they do professionally, then that damages your hair. use a GHD straightener, they're the best you can get.

My sister is always straightening her hair, She uses a Mark Hill hair straightening protection spray.. thing. I'd use it in the morning otherwise it will just ware off more easily.

Hair is most fragile when it's wet. You should tie it back when it dries or not at all.

You could spray the heat protect before it dries, but what I will ask is how does your hair feel when you finish? If it feels good, than you should be all set. If it's still dry, you should use more before you iron. Or you could try something different. I love Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide. It makes your hair soft and protects it from the heat.

i'd suggesting putting it on both at night and in the morning, before you straighten. i sleep on a wet head also but sometimes when i woke up in the morning my ends would look and feel kind of wierd. it was from the fabric of my sheets and pillow (they were flannel at the time) believe it or not your bed sheets and pillowcase can be doing damage to your hair when you sleep on your head, so i just bought a silk set of sheets and my hair is all soft in the morning :)

Hi yes it will still work but I still put heat activation on my dry hair before I straigten it in the morning. Check if your heat protection spary is for use on dry hair before you straigten as some you cant use them only on damp hair.

I wouldnt recommend washing it and straigtening it everyday, if you use a good heat protection spray it should stay straight.

But if you insist on washing it everyday make sure you apply a leave in conditioner also, and use a hair mask or conditioning treatment once a week. I use the tresemme deep nourishing on as its the only one that works Ive tried loads of them, but this repairs split ends and protects from further heat damage, it does feel a little clarty on the hair after you have straigtened it but when you wash it the next day is when you will really see the difference.

before you straighten your hair spray the protector on then wait 20 mins then after 20 mins straighten

its ok to spray the protector spray over it,but u need a sirum with heat protector agents in it to protect it while straightening it,when the hair is to dry it tends to break faster,u need to make sure ur hair is moist while straightening(not with water)
