How do I flatten my hair?

Ever since I got my haircut, I've been spiking my hair, using gels and hairspray. I manage to get it out, but even after i get the gel and spray out, my hair still remains up. I've tried washing it twice over to flatten it, but it still remains spiky, that or it looks messy and stupid. how do i flatten hair that wont stay down??? ive washd with conditioners and shampoos, still remains up. any tips???

Stop spiking it for a bit. Trying getting the gel and come your hair back instead of spiking it. When you put your hair in a position for a long time, and then suddenly wanna change it, most of the time your hair won't comply. Its just like when I had my bangs lol
