A few questions about hair straighteners...?

1. What do the various measurements mean (like 1", 1" 1/2, 3",etc.) and what's the significance?

2. Like with a curling iron, do I need special heat protecting hair lotion, wax, spray, etc.?

3. Are there any particularly good brands (I'd rather not spend more than $20, but I'm open to anything).

A few questions about hair straighteners...?

the sizes mean the size of the plates on the straighteners

yes you do to keep your hair protected from the heat damage, although i dont ;) just get a heat defence spray or even just try using a regular mouse on the hair to coat it which wil protect it

and im not sure if they sell them in america, but the best straighteners you can buy in england are GHD's in my opinion

hope i could help :)

A few questions about hair straighteners...?

Yes you should use heat protecting cream

A few questions about hair straighteners...?

1. with a straightener, its how wide the plates on them are. a 3' straightener is really big %26amp; will do more of your hair. but i prefer a 1' because i can style it more carefully %26amp; better.

2.it is really good to use a protector with everything. all the things people use to do there hair damages it.

what i use (%26amp; it works really well) is redken smooth down. it protects your hair %26amp; it smooths it out. so its not frizzy afterwards. i love it.

3. redken (^) is cheap %26amp; it works. for a straightener go to like walmart %26amp; get the 1' black revlon straightener. its olny 20 dollars %26amp; it lasts longer then a chi, which i used to have.

good luck!
